Larsen & Toubro — GET and management trainee interviews

L&T runs one of India's largest core-engineering trainee intakes: graduate engineer trainees in civil, mechanical and electrical for construction, infrastructure, hydrocarbon, power and heavy engineering, and postgraduate and management trainees for planning, contracts and supply chain. The mock runs the technical, hiring-manager and HR loop L&T holds after its online test, with company-specific questions on site postings, safety, landmark projects and the GET programme.

Campus hiring teams of Larsen & Toubro and its businesses, including L&T Construction (Chennai), Heavy Engineering (Mumbai and Hazira), L&T Energy Hydrocarbon, Power Transmission and Distribution and L&T Defence, with graduate engineer trainee induction run through the company's leadership development academy at Lonavala 2 roles 2 languages 4 AI interviewers

From our research

What this interview looks like

L&T typically shortlists with an online test that combines aptitude with a technical section in the candidate's discipline, and some campuses add a group discussion.

Shortlisted candidates typically face a technical interview, taken by a senior engineer or project manager from the business that is hiring, that goes through core fundamentals, the final-year project and site-oriented scenarios on concrete, structures, fabrication, electrical systems or planning, followed by an HR interview on fitment, the GET programme, site postings anywhere in India or overseas and the training period.

In some drives the two are combined into one panel. Postgraduate engineer trainees and management trainees for planning, contracts and procurement typically get a domain discussion with a case or a numbers exercise.

Round counts, durations and the test pattern vary by business, campus and year, and any service agreement in the offer changes, so verify against the current drive communication. L&T panels are known for asking about willingness to live on a project site and for probing safety in every interview.

Englio compresses the loop into a 17-minute panel: HR screen, a hiring-manager round with L&T-specific questions, a technical or domain round in your chosen profile, a short STAR behavioural round and a closing on expectations, scored on role knowledge, problem solving, communication and attitude.

How scoring works

A report you can act on

  1. Every round is scored on the rubric

Each interviewer scores only the criteria their round covers. Weights add up to your overall score out of 100.

  2. Only what you actually said counts

Feedback quotes your own answers. Rounds you skip show as “Not assessed” rather than a zero.

  3. Communication is always measured

Fluency, clarity, confidence and structure are tracked across the whole interview, in any language.

  4. Pass mark, then a plan

You see the pass mark for this interview, your gaps, and the courses that close them fastest.
