From our research

What this interview looks like

All four companies filter with an online test first and then interview the shortlist, usually on video and often on the same day.

At TCS the technical, managerial and HR rounds are typically held back to back, and many candidates report a single panel of two or three members covering all three, with Digital and Prime candidates getting a noticeably harder technical section on data structures, object-oriented design and a project deep dive.

Infosys typically holds a technical interview that covers fundamentals, a coding or pseudocode question and sometimes a puzzle, followed by or combined with an HR conversation. Specialist Programmer and Digital Specialist Engineer candidates can expect a deeper coding discussion.

Wipro typically runs a technical interview and an HR interview after the NTH or Turbo test, sometimes combined into one sitting, with projects, programming basics and communication in focus.

Accenture's interview is typically a single technical plus HR conversation that is light on algorithms and heavy on communication, pseudo-code reasoning, project understanding and fitment, held after the cognitive and technical, coding and communication assessments.

Durations and round counts vary by drive and change from year to year, and package figures and any service agreement in particular change, so verify them against the current offer letter.

Englio compresses the loop into a 17-minute panel: HR screen, a hiring-manager round with company-specific questions, a role or technical round in your chosen profile, a short STAR behavioural round and a closing on expectations, scored on role knowledge, problem solving, communication and attitude.

How it is weighted

The online test shortlists and the interview decides. Infosys typically mixes fundamentals, a coding or pseudocode walk-through, sometimes a puzzle, and HR fitment. The SP and DSE tracks weight coding ability heavily, and candidates have reported being offered a different role rather than rejected.

Here each round is scored against the corporate rubric (role knowledge 30, problem solving 25, communication 25, attitude 20).

Who this is for

Candidates who have cleared Infosys' online assessment for the Systems Engineer role, which typically tests reasoning, verbal ability, pseudocode and puzzles, or who have come through HackWithInfy or the Specialist Programmer and Digital Specialist Engineer coding tests, which are typically a few algorithmic problems of rising difficulty.

Certification routes on Infosys' learning platforms have also fed campus hiring in some cycles. The interview is typically a technical plus HR conversation; SP and DSE candidates can expect a deeper coding discussion. Process pattern as of recent drives.

The panel focuses on

  • Pseudocode and dry-running a short program aloud
  • Coding problems explained step by step with complexity, for SP and DSE
  • Puzzles and logical reasoning spoken through, not just the answer
  • Database and SQL basics, OOP and one language in depth
  • Mysuru foundation training and its assessments, the Infosys role ladder and why Infosys over the other three
  • Final-year project ownership and honest answers on what you did not build

What to expect

5 rounds · 17 minutes

A private-sector hiring loop compressed into one sitting, the way most Indian companies run it: HR screen → hiring-manager round on your actual work → role/technical round led by a lead → communication & behavioural (STAR) round → closing on expectations and your questions.

Works for software, product, sales, finance, HR, support and campus hiring by swapping the role bank.

Sample questions

TCS / Infosys / Wipro / Accenture Infosys campus interview questions

Questions panels commonly ask in the TCS / Infosys / Wipro / Accenture Infosys campus interview, with what a strong answer covers. Practise them aloud with the AI panel.

  1. Pseudocode

Read this pseudocode aloud and tell me the output: set x to 5, set y to 0, while x is greater than 0, add x to y and subtract 2 from x, then print y.

    What a strong answer covers

Dry-run step by step: x takes values 5, 3 and 1 while y becomes 5, 8 and 9, then x becomes negative and the loop ends, so the output is 9. Say each iteration aloud. Avoid jumping to an answer or losing track of the loop condition.

  2. Coding

For the Specialist Programmer role: given an array of daily stock prices, how would you find the maximum profit from one buy and one sell?

    What a strong answer covers

Track the minimum price seen so far and the best profit at each step in a single pass, giving linear time and constant space. Explain with a small example and handle the case where prices only fall. Avoid nested loops without improving them.

  3. Puzzle

Three switches outside a closed room control three bulbs inside. You can enter the room only once. How do you find which switch controls which bulb?

    What a strong answer covers

Turn on the first switch for a few minutes, turn it off, turn on the second, then enter: the lit bulb is the second, the warm unlit bulb is the first, and the cold one is the third. Explain your reasoning aloud. Avoid only stating the answer without the logic.

  4. SQL

Write a SQL query in words to find the department with the highest average salary, and explain how GROUP BY and ORDER BY work here.

    What a strong answer covers

Group employees by department, compute AVG of salary, order by that average descending and limit to one row, or use a subquery with MAX. Explain that GROUP BY creates one row per department and HAVING filters groups. Mention ties. Avoid confusing WHERE with HAVING.

  5. Language depth

In Java or Python, what happens when you compare two strings with double equals, and why can it surprise people?

    What a strong answer covers

In Java, double equals compares references, so two equal strings may return false unless interned; equals compares content. In Python, double equals compares values while is compares identity. Give an example. Avoid giving the wrong rule for your claimed language.

  6. Training

Infosys freshers usually train at the Mysuru campus for a few months before project allocation. What do you expect from that training, and how will you prepare?

    What a strong answer covers

Show awareness that training is intensive, includes assessments that must be cleared, and covers fundamentals and a technology stream. Mention preparation such as revising programming and DBMS. Avoid treating it as a holiday or being unaware that assessments matter.

  7. Honesty

Your resume says you built a machine-learning model for crop prediction. Which part did you not build yourself?

    What a strong answer covers

Be honest about what you used from libraries or teammates, such as a public dataset or a pre-built model, and clearly state your own contribution like data cleaning or the web interface. Avoid overclaiming, as the interviewer can easily probe deeper.

  8. Advanced coding

For the Power Programmer track: a singly linked list may loop back on itself somewhere. Prove whether it does using only two pointers and no extra storage.

    What a strong answer covers

Use Floyd's slow and fast pointer technique: if they meet, a cycle exists. Explain why it works, its linear time and constant space, and how to find the cycle start. Avoid using a hash set when the question says no extra memory.

  9. Motivation

Of the big four IT services firms, why is Infosys your first choice, and what role do you picture yourself in by 2029?

    What a strong answer covers

Give a reason linked to Infosys specifically, such as its training model, digital work or a domain, and a realistic three-year path like becoming a strong developer or moving into a specialisation. Avoid generic answers or saying you plan to leave for higher studies soon.

How scoring works

A report you can act on

  1. Every round is scored on the rubric

Each interviewer scores only the criteria their round covers. Weights add up to your overall score out of 100.

  2. Only what you actually said counts

Feedback quotes your own answers. Rounds you skip show as “Not assessed” rather than a zero.

  3. Communication is always measured

Fluency, clarity, confidence and structure are tracked across the whole interview, in any language.

  4. Pass mark, then a plan

You see the pass mark for this interview, your gaps, and the courses that close them fastest.
